Coronavirus Rained on Our Valentine’s Day

Since the outbreak of the Coronavirus, every aspect of our lives has been changed. Holidays are no exception. Whether we like it or not, it’s more difficult to meet new people and do fun social activities. This makes it hard to celebrate love in the way we want to, this year. Still, there is much to be grateful for. Love is a powerful force that can hold us together. It doesn’t matter if you’re single or in isolation. I’d like to invite you to celebrate Valentine’s Day, in whatever way you can.

Tips for Celebrating Valentine’s Day Amidst Coronavirus

Couples: This is the perfect time of year to celebrate a union. So, treat yourself to a special meal. If restaurants are open near you, you can participate safely with social distancing guidelines. However, not everyone feels comfortable with this or is even able to. Instead, you can have a romantic, home-cooked meal. Set up some candles and flowers around the room for ambiance. Use your best dinnerware and show your lover that you care. End the night with a romantic movie at home! 

Singles: For singles out there, (myself included) it’s time for some ultimate self-love. You deserve to relax and soothe your mind; don’t worry about what everyone else is doing. Get your chef on or order your favorite take-out. If possible, you can share this meal with a couple of beloved family and friends. Buy yourself some flowers and candy because, why not treat yourself? End your night by unwinding in a hot bath or shower. My favorite way to take baths is with Epsom salt and fresh flower petals/herbs. Don’t forget candles or incense to set the mood.
